There are pictures from MONTREAL, in La belle Province du Quebec, a very charming cosmopolitan City, and from the Niagara Region in Ontario, "The Banana Belt", where everything grows but bananas. NEW! A brief visit to Halifax, Nova Scotia

Making this photo album, and having lived in Montreal for 12 years (1975-1987), it is sad that I didn't have a good camera back then. I could have presented more pictures from Montreal, but my old pictures from my "Instamatic" has not quite survived the time. Most pictures here are from my more resent visits to Montreal staying with family. The history of Montreal goes back to the early settlers, mostly from France. This gives the old part of Montreal a very special flavor. There are many cozy, and at

There are so many cozy ,and at the same time elegant French Cuisine restaurants in downtown Montreal on Crescent and Peel streets, and in Old Montréal. Their, from my personal experience, very discreet and gracious waiters tend to your every whim. Oh la la! And how delicious! No silly, the food! This was between 1975 and 1987. I hope nothing has changed there. The architecture of this cosmopolitan City is very interesting. The buildings show how Montreal has been going through its stages. A time of the cultures inherited from France and England, which have helped to give Montreal such a charming look. As you know, Montreal is located in the most French speaking province of Canada, Quebec. /Margareta |

Artists are working and displaying their art in the narrow streets. It is fun to visit here during Jean Babtiste at the end of June. Pop in, have a beer and sing along... Well, the tune is mostly familiar. The French Canadians are having a good time when you try.

Watching people going by is always fun to do here in Old Montreal. The restaurants are excellent. And on the market place there is often some entertainment.

A taste of Canadian Winters. When the winter is this good going skiing in the mountains around Montreal is really a treat. Mount Tremblant is only 2 hours by car from Montreal. Or go to Mount San Saveur in an hour. Eastern Townships, bordering to the United States, the same amount of time in the other direction. There Mount Sutton, used to be a favorite like wise Jay Peak and Owel's Head, but you can also cross the border to go to Stowe or Smugglers Notch in Vermont for the day. The ski season can never get boring, but it is depending on the weather off course. There might be some time to catch up on reading in front of a fire place.
